The Garboard is the bottom side plank. It is fixed to the chine, inner stem and transom.

Fitting the garboards is a two person job. Tracey helped me do this.

The garboards are fully glued. I used a combination of clamps and temporary screws to hold the planks in place while the glue cured.

The stern photo shows the start of planing the garboard and chine to the profile of the bottom.

The instructions in the book talk about a lot of hand tools. I used Damon's nice Bosch power plane to do this job. I've used power tools when ever I can (mostly borrowed from either Damon or Colin) which have saved me a huge amount of time.
